Stitching with Jane - R. Rabbit's Jane Austen SAL

Start the new year off right, with a Jane Austen Stitch Along and Read Along. I have been thinking of doing this for a while now and am being encouraged to get it set up.

We will be reading Persuasion, not one of her better known books, but one her best.

Guidelines for SAL

Fee - $5 includes a project bag, entry for the prizes to be given away in April (I will be shopping for some good ones in Scotland.) Deadline for entry photos March 31*.

Work a pattern from an Interweave Press Jane Austen magazine, the Book of Collections, the Crochet Jane Austen book, or any pattern on Ravelry which clearly references Jane Austen.

I hope this will be a fun, community activity. We will have a Thread in R. Rabbit's Ravelry group to share conversations, photos, etc. We will also enjoy seeing sharing posts through R. Rabbit's FB page.

We will have Meet-ups during the SAL, RAL group discussions at the shop and spontaneously through town (I hope).

Categories for prizes:

1. Mr. Collins' Elegant Female prize (this would include diaphanous shawls, reticules, etc.)

2. Eleanor's Sensible prize (this would include those objects which are useful for everyday life, hats, tea cosies, etc.)

3. Anne Elliot's Second Chance prize (this would include items which have been in time out, hibernating or projects made with yarn from frogged projects.)
